Question by TommyBBaLL: Table saw blade wont tighten?
I perform at a wood shop and one particular morning I came in and was informed” I broke the table saw” this not getting the case as the case was they had been trying to tighten the blade instead of loosen it. I right away freed the blade and didnt have any further troubles with the saw, or blades. Today as I was setting a dado blade, it wouldn’t tighten totally, and when I took the dado stack off I put a 1/8 inch kerf blade on and it wouldn’t come close to tightening. The entire spindle is spinning as well as the belt and the blade is locked up with a piece of wood. My guess is when cranking the blade tight as they had been” attempting to loosen it” could have loosened some thing else along the way causing the spindle to break totally free. Any tips on how this can be fixed?

Sounds like they might have stripped a set screw or keyway on the belt pulley. Check for these on the pulley and also (Just have to say it) make positive you did not leave out any spacers between the bolt and blade.
Excellent luck
Chris
PS: I had one particular that the spacer stuck to the blade and it drove me nuts for an hour before I decided to attempt the old blade once again and had an “AH HA Moment”! LOL!
