Question by get_money_105: compatible batteries for makita power tools?
i have a makita hammer drill bhp452 and it takes a bl1830 and 1815 lith ion battery 18v 3000mah. my question is are there other compatible batteries available that would work as well , besides the makita brand?

nope. that is why there is dewalt, robyi, hilti, etc. all have there own. and espically for the high end tools they can be expensive.

i dont think so, the batteries can be purchased separately, but you can usually buy the tool with batteries for pretty much the same price
Generally they are a proprietary pattern (meaning non-interchangeable). HOWEVER, we have a franchise in town called Batteries+Plus that can rebuild the internals. The internal cells are all the same. Last time I was in there, the guy was supergluing several cells together to rebuild something.
In medium to lower priced tools, the competition is stiff enough for the tools, but once you’ve bought it, they have no competition in the replacement batteries. As much as I hate it, it’s often cheaper to buy a new kit with two batteries, charger, and a tool or two than to buy two replacement batteries from the mfr. Some companies, Ryobi, have unbundled the batteries from the tools and you buy the tools and batteries separately, unless you are getting the 9 piece kit in a bag.
like all have said they are not interchangable but you can check a site called “cheap batteries.com” they might have what you need cheap but for the most part your better off buying a whole new outfit and getting the tool free for the cost of the battery, you should also check and see if their is any battery rebuilders in your area, usually they aren’t that expensive to rebuild.
