Take it to Home Depot. They have a collection bin for old batteries. Hope this helps.
What do you think? Answer below!

Y’know, home depot used to have boxes out for this purpose while advertising their “greenitude”, but they vanished in my area a while ago.
Try googling battery recycling & see what happens.
Many areas have a recyle center that pays by the weight of items brought in; also, go to http://www.freecycle.org and see if there is a Freecyle group in your area. That’s a great organization to get rid of anything (everything instead of dumping it), or finding something you need that others may throw out.
Have fun. They’re great people in Freecycle.org – last summer, I got a freecycler’s crop of fresh Basil – yummy. Another freecycler cleaned out all the paints, brushes, rollers, etc in my shed!
